I hope that circumstances will evolve somehow so that additional views will trigger further positive effects. Regards, Markus

I would like to improve developments for selected software areas. Will communication challenges be adjusted accordingly? Regards, Markus

[1/1] spi: ppc4xx: handle irq_of_parse_and_map() errors commit: f1011ba20b83da3ee70dcb4a6d9d282a718916fa All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted. You may get further e-mails resulting from automated or manual testing and review of the tree, please engage with people reporting problems and send followup patches addressing any issues that are reported if needed. If any updates are required or you are submitting further changes they should be sent as incremental updates against current git, existing patches will not be replaced. Please add any relevant lists and maintainers to the CCs when replying to this mail. Thanks, Mark

Would it be better to change the type of the 'irqnum' variable? and do not need to check if 'irqnum' is negative, like this: if (!hw->irqnum) { dev_err(dev, "no IRQ resource\n"); ret = -EINVAL; goto free_host; } > ret = request_irq(hw->irqnum, spi_ppc4xx_int, > 0, "spi_ppc4xx_of", (void *)hw); > if (ret) { > -- > 2.25.1 > > Regards, Luoxi

Zero and negative number is not a valid IRQ for in-kernel code and the irq_of_parse_and_map() function returns zero on error. So this check for valid IRQs should only accept values > 0.
